........ This program provides reproductive health care to women of
child-bearing age at seven locations within EMAA's eight-county service area.
There is no income limit and sliding fees are charged based upon family
income and size. Services include: birth control methods, pregnancy testing,
complete physical exams Pap smears, breast exams, screening for anemia,
cholesterol, diabetes and bladder infections, screening and treatment for
sexually transmitted diseases and vaginal infections, education and referral
for HIV testing.
...........The Community Educator provides
sexuality education to approximately 9,000 persons per year through
Parent/Child programs, teen pregnancy prevention and other programs. A
loaning resources library provides books, pamphlets and videos, games and
other educational materials available for public use.
...........A portion of EMAA's Family Planning
funding comes from Title X Family Planning grants. The bulk of the funding
for the program, however, is generated by patient fees.
...........The Family Planning Program also offers
the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Project (BCCCP) through funding from
the Federal Center for Disease Control. This program provides free breast
exams, pap smears and physical exams for women who have incomes under 200% of
Federal
poverty guidelines.
...........BCCCP also helps defray the cost of
colposcopy exams and biopsies for abnormal Pap smear follow-up and for women
over 50, mammograms.
